In the Kitchens was developed to help people learn how to make delicious homemade meals using fresh ingredients. We will show you that cooking is a healthy, fun, and creative experience for everyone!
With a Masters in Education, Amanda Schrag has been an educator for over 15 years. Growing up in Indiana and teaching in Cincinnati Ohio, she is currently a teacher with the Clark County School District. Living in Las Vegas since 2004 with her husband and two children, one of her favorite hobbies is cooking. This interest began when she was a little girl in her mother’s kitchen, and she loves that her children have inherited this enjoyment of cooking as well.
Also with a Masters in Education, Julia Games has been an educator for over 20 years, and is also currently a teacher with the Clark County School District. Originally from Philadelphia, she, her husband, and two daughters, have resided in Las Vegas since 2000. She enjoys tasting and creating new and interesting recipes. Her two daughters love to jump in and get messy with her in the kitchen.
Seeing the joy and excitement that their own children have in the kitchen learning about healthy eating habits, inspired Julia and Amanda in the creation of In the Kitchens. What a great way to combine their interests in education and cooking to inspire people to live a healthy life with healthy food! In the Kitchens was created as an education-based hands on cooking class developed to help children, teens, and adults learn how to create simple and healthy meals, as well as learn about the health benefits of cooking recipes using fresh ingredients. Since 2013 they have been teaching that cooking can be simple, fun, and most of all healthy! Join us in this fun and educational experience for people of all ages, as we inspire a love of cooking with those around us!

Children just need a smile and to be ready to have fun! We provide the food, recipes, cooking supplies, and aprons. If your child has long hair, please tie it back for cleanliness and safety reasons. We also ask your child brings a water bottle with his/her name or initials.
We teach children cooking vocabulary and techniques in a kid-friendly way. We also teach kids about nutrition and the importance of eating well balanced meals. We even discuss math when measuring our ingredients. We think most importantly that your child will learn to embrace trying different foods and who knows...maybe he/she will find some new favorite foods!
In the Kitchens is a hands on cooking school, so each of our classes allow for students to actually create the meal, not watch someone else cook. We start by reading the recipe together. After that, we spend most of our time preparing the food and cooking. Lastly, your child gets to eat what he/she made. The best part!!! Your child will get the recipes we made during class, so that he/she may continue to practice cooking at home.
We strive to include every child whether they have a food allergy or not. Please contact us before signing your child up for one of our cooking classes and together we can create a plan to best accommodate for his/her food allergy.
